What happens when a process run fails?
AutomatedOn handles failures differently depending on what went wrong.
Some records failed
The run is marked Partial and the schedule carries on. No email is sent. Check the failed records on the History tab.
The data source returned a 400 error
If the data source answers with a 400 (Bad Request) error when the process fetches its records, and the process has a Schedule Period Minutes, the run is marked Retry scheduled. AutomatedOn tries again after 60 minutes, or after the schedule period if that's longer. No email is sent. If the process has no schedule period, the run is marked Failed instead.
The run itself failed
For example, a different data source error, a missing setting, a parameter with no value or a Schedule Expression problem. The run is marked Failed and a failure notification email is sent. The next run is only scheduled if Continue Schedule On Failure is on.
Every record failed
The run is marked Failed and a failure notification email is sent. The next run is only scheduled if Continue Schedule On Failure is on.
Failure notification emails
Notification emails go to the support address set in your environment's configuration, which by default is the Three 17 support team. They include the process name, a link to the process and the error or record counts.
What you need to do
- Find the error: hover over the
!pill on the dashboard, or open the failed records on the History tab. - Fix the cause, then check with the Test tab.
- If the schedule has stopped (the dashboard shows Idle and no Next run), click Requeue on the failed run or schedule a new job on the Jobs tab.
