Start or schedule a process run
Processes don't start on their own. You start a process by scheduling a run on its Jobs tab. This is how you start a new process, restart one that has stopped, or add an extra run.
Before you start
You need to be signed in as a back office user. Members can see the Jobs tab but not the Schedule a job form.
Steps
-
Open the Jobs tab
Open the process page and click the Jobs tab. Check the Active jobs list first. If there's already a Run Process job, the process is already scheduled.
-
Choose when to run
Under Schedule a job, set Run at to a date and time in the future, in your own local time. To run almost straight away, choose a time a minute or two from now.
-
Check the parameters
If the process needs parameters, a box is shown for each one, filled in with the process's default. Change them if this run needs different values.
-
Click Schedule
Click Schedule. You'll see Job scheduled. and the job appears in Active jobs as Scheduled.
If you see Failed to schedule the job. Check the run time and try again., make sure the time is in the future. If you see Choose a date/time to run at., fill in Run at.
What happens next
At the chosen time, the process runs. If it has a Schedule Period Minutes, that run then schedules the next one, so the process keeps repeating. Every run schedules its own next run, so if you add an extra run while one is already scheduled, you'll end up with two repeating cycles. Cancel one of them on the Jobs tab if that happens.
