What does "Too many requests" mean?

To keep the service fast for everyone, AutomatedOn allows each signed-in person up to 60 requests a minute to its process, history, rule and dataset features. Over that, requests are refused until the minute is up, with the message Too many requests. Please try again shortly.

How it shows up

You may not see that exact message. Instead you might see:

  • tables on the dashboard or process page that don't load
  • An unexpected error occurred while running the test… on the Test tab
  • Failed to load fields (status 429). or Failed to load entity sets (status 429). in the back office
  • Request failed with status 429. after clicking Test Connection

What to do

  1. Wait about a minute.
  2. Reload the page or try again.
  3. Avoid clicking through many pages of history or re-running tests rapidly.

This limit only applies to people using AutomatedOn's pages. It doesn't affect your processes when they run.
