See the queries a process runs

The Queries tab shows the query a process uses to fetch its records, and any extra query it runs for each record to look up data for its rules. It's for reference only; nothing is run when you open it.

Dataset query

A card, named after the dataset, shows the main query in a readable layout (SELECT, FROM and WHERE for OData, or the request details for a REST dataset), with a badge for how many fields are selected. Below it is the full address that will be requested.

  • Copy query copies the readable version.
  • Copy URL copies the full address, so you can check it against your data source.

Parameters use the process's default values. Parameter tokens with no default are shown as they are. Relative dates are worked out as of now.

Per-record queries

If a rule condition reads from a different dataset, AutomatedOn looks that data up once for every record. Each such dataset gets its own card. Tokens such as $$StudentId$$ are left in, because they're filled from each record at run time.

If no rule needs extra data, you'll see No rule conditions reference an enrichment dataset — only the dataset query above will run.

Split requests

If a lookup asks for so many fields that the address would be too long, it's split into several requests and the results are merged. The card shows Split into N requests. Click Show separate requests to see each one with its own Copy query and Copy URL buttons, and Show combined query to go back.

Refreshing

Click Refresh after changing the process or its dataset in the back office.

If the query can't be built, an error is shown instead, for example Dataset not referenced on process.
