View rules and where they're used

You can read every rule on the AutomatedOn site without opening the back office. Members and back-office users can both do this.

Steps

  1. Open a rules folder

Under Rules in the sidebar, select a folder name. The Rules Collection page lists every rule in the folder, including rules in sub-folders, with a heading where each sub-folder starts.

  2. Read a rule

Each rule's Overview tab shows its Type, Match and message prefixes, then each condition set and its conditions: the Field (with the dataset and data source it comes from), Operator, Value 1, Value 2 and messages.

  3. See where a rule is used

Select the rule's Referenced By tab to see Referenced processes. Select a process name to open it.

  4. Print or edit

On the Rules Collection page, select Print for a paper or PDF copy. Back-office users can select Edit to open the folder in the back office.

More detail

A rule shows no processes

Processes pick rule folders rather than single rules. If a rule's Referenced By tab shows No processes reference this rule., check which processes use the folder the rule is in.
