Choose a sender address for your emails

Every Email Template has a Sender field. AutomatedOn sends email through Azure Communication Services, which can only send from domains that have been set up and verified for your environment. Three 17 sets this up for you.

The rule

  • If the Sender address is on your environment's sender domain, emails are sent from that address. For example, if the sender domain is example.com, you could use courses@example.com or admissions@example.com.
  • If the Sender is on any other domain, the email is still sent, but from your environment's default no-reply address instead.
  • The domain check is not case-sensitive.

How to tell if your sender is accepted

Run a test on the process's Test tab. If the sender isn't on the right domain, the record shows an issue such as:

Sender domain must be example.com

The message tells you the domain your environment can send from. Change the Sender to an address on that domain, then save and publish the template.

Using a different domain

If you want to send from a domain that isn't set up yet, contact Three 17 support. The domain needs to be added and verified before AutomatedOn can send from it.
