Read the process Overview tab

Every process has a page in AutomatedOn. The Overview tab opens first and summarises how the process is set up, in plain language.

What it shows

  • Dataset: the dataset's title (a link to its own page), its Entity set or Resource path, its Data source, and its Filter(s) or Query parameter(s).
  • Schedule: Period (for example "1 day", "2 hours" or Runs once), the Schedule Expression, and Continue on failure (Yes or No).
  • Rule Collection: the rules the process checks, each linking to its own page. This only appears if the process has rules.
  • Steps: each step in order. Outcome steps read, for example, "If there are any SmsReminder rule matches then take the following actions", followed by the actions and whether the record then goes to the next step.

Looking inside an action

Actions are listed as, for example, Send email - Course Reminder, Send SMS - Course Reminder SMS or API request - Update Student. Click one to expand it and see the template as it's written, with its tokens. To see it with a real record's values filled in, use the Test tab.

Buttons

  • Print prints the page.
  • Edit opens the process in the back office. Only back office users see this button.

The other tabs are Test, Queries, Suggested Tests, History and Jobs.
