Connect Century Tech or another REST API
Century Tech, like many modern systems, has a REST API that returns JSON. This example reads completed Smart Initial Assessment sessions. You can follow the same pattern for other REST APIs by swapping in the details from their documentation.
Before you start
You'll need a Century API key. Check Century's API documentation for the current addresses and parameters, as these may change.
Steps
-
Create the API Auth Profile
Create an API Auth Profile with Auth Mode
ApiKey, Header Namex-api-key, an empty Header Scheme, and a Credential Key such asCenturyApi. Save and publish, then ask Three 17 support to store your Century API key under that key. -
Create the Rest Data Source
Create a Rest Data Source with Base URL
https://connect.century.tech/api/v1and pick the profile. Save, publish and select Test Connection. -
Create the REST Dataset
Underneath it, create a REST Dataset with:
- Resource Path:
/smart-ia/sessions/completed - Items Path:
data - Query Parameters, one per line:
endDate[gt]={aoLastRun:SuccessStarted}sort[field]=endDatesort[direction]=asc
- Pagination Mode: Cursor, with Next Value Path
pagination.nextCursor, Cursor Parametercursor, Page Size Parameterlimitand Page Size100
- Resource Path:
-
Choose the fields
In Select, add a row for each field, with its path and a friendly name in As:
sessionIdasSessionIduser.userIdasUserIduser.emails[0]asEmailtest.subjectasSubjectresult.levelasLevelendDateasCompletedAt
-
Preview the data
Save and publish, then open the dataset on the AutomatedOn site and select the Preview tab to see real sessions.
What happens next
Use the dataset in a process, for example with a step that makes an API request to send each result to another system. Because of {aoLastRun:SuccessStarted}, each run only picks up sessions completed since the last successful run.
